Caffeine oral strips: what they are and how to use ION
A caffeine oral strip is a thin, fast-dissolving strip you place on your tongue. There is no cup to brew or carry and no water needed. ION Strips are a health supplement for adults (18+), made in India.
What is in an ION strip?
Each strip has 50 mg of caffeine, 30 mg of L-theanine and 2.4 µg of vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin), with 0 g of sugars. Caffeine provides a feeling of increased energy and reduced fatigue. Vitamin B12 helps reduce tiredness and fatigue. L-theanine promotes calm focus and may reduce caffeine-related jitteriness.
How to use ION Strips
- Peel. Grip the marked corner and peel the pouch film back.
- Place. Put 1 strip on your tongue.
- Dissolve. Let it dissolve. No water needed.
Adults: up to 3 strips a day, at least 4 hours apart. Do not exceed 3 strips (150 mg caffeine) in a day.
ION Strips and coffee
A strip has a fixed 50 mg of caffeine that you can read on the label. Roughly 80 to 120 mg is typical in a cup of brewed coffee (ICMR-NIN figures; it varies with bean, brew and cup size). Caffeine from all sources adds up through the day, so limit coffee, tea and energy drinks on days you use more than one strip.
Who should not use them?
ION contains caffeine. It is not recommended for children, pregnant or lactating women, or anyone sensitive to caffeine. If you have a medical condition or take medication, consult a healthcare professional first. ION is a health supplement and not for medicinal use.
